Drawn from interviews with my grandmother before she passed away, this work tells the story of a young woman navigating an arranged marriage she never wanted. It is as much about her grief for a life she could not live as it is about the marriage itself. I experimented with panel structure to mirror her emotional state and the constraints that shaped her life. First published in Turkey and later translated into English by Europe Comics, the book was nominated for an Eisner Award for Best Digital Comic in 2020.
